The are 3 standard types of approach we use for silo cleaning, depending on the condition and regulation of the silo:

  1. Bottom-up approach
  2. Top-down approach
  3. Rope access approach
Bottom-up approach — Cardox System
The Cardox System is used at the extraction area to remove any blockage that is preventing the loose material from flowing out of the silo.

Top-down approach — SiloWhip System
The SiloWhip, the most powerful whip in the world, is a unique tool developed to clean clogged storage vessels without the danger of entering the vessel itself. It attaches easily to an opening at the top of the silo. Its boom extends into the vessel to act as a guide for the main hose assembly and attached whipping head. Flexible whips, attached to the whipping head, create a buzzsaw-like cutting action that will knock out the toughest build-up without damaging vessel walls. Personnel never enter the silo, but can easily position the whipping head inside the vessel by rotating or moving the boom up or down. The result is a clean vessel and reclaimed product.

Rope access approach — Our Highly Trained Specialist
Our highly trained specialist are lowered into the silo by using only ropes to access the build-up located on the side walls of the silo.
Our highly trained specialist are able to anchor themselves along the build-up located at the side wall of the silo to perform a drilling operation for the Cardox tube to be inserted.
Once a hole is drilled, the Cardox tube is inserted into the hole and ready to be activated from above and outside the silo. More than one tube can be activated from different drilled holes simultaneously to dislodge more build-up.
Result of the build-up dislodged using Cardox. The process is repeated again until all the build-up is removed from the side wall of the silo.
